Dr. Kristine Slam, is a board-certified surgeon with Central Ohio Surgical Associates. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed her surgical training at the University of Toledo. Dr. Slam has a clinical focus in breast cancer and benign breast disease, with advanced surgical skills in hidden scar breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic breast surgery, nipple-sparing mastectomy, chemotherapy port placement, lymph node biopsy and reverse axillary lymph node mapping to decrease lymphedema risk. Dr. Slam has served as the Medical Director of Cancer Accreditation for the Mount Carmel Health Systems since 2015, with oversight responsibilities for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. She served as the Medical Staff President for Mount Carmel Health Systems in 2020, and also as Chairman of the Mount Carmel East Surgery Department for nearly 5 years. She is a physician champion for cancer research and quality improvement projects through the MCHS Network Cancer Committee.

Dr. Slam has published over ten papers in peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous invited lectures on breast diseases and breast cancer.
Dr. Slam is an ancillary faculty member of the Mount Carmel General Surgery residency program, responsible for the education of breast disease. She is a staunch patient advocate for patient safety, evidence-based surgical practice, and reducing financial toxicity for cancer care. She maintains a grant for breast cancer patients in financial hardship, COSACares. Dr. Slam lives in Blacklick with her daughter; she enjoys doing adult gymnastics and Pilates, traveling, and fashion.
