Biography

Dr. Bryan Grischow attended the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with honors in 1993. He completed his general surgery training in Tampa, Florida, in 1999 and founded Westerville Surgical Specialists in 2000. He developed the Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Wound Care Center in 2001, one of the first of its kind in the central Ohio area. He was the St. Ann’s Surgical Physician Facilitator and Department Chair from 2006- 2011 and has been a Clinical Professor in General Surgery for Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2012. He has received several awards, including the National Osteopathic Award for Outstanding Specialty Medicine Physician and the Healthgrades Specialty Award for Outstanding Clinical Quality.


In 2008, he co-founded Acute Care Surgeons and created the ACS model as a standard for emergent and urgent surgical care. In 2010, he brought on his first partner, Dr. Shane Brown, who launched the Robotic Assisted General Surgery program, leading the surgical community in using Robotic Assisted techniques for elective and acute care general surgery. Since then, his practice has grown to a team of five quality general surgeons providing top decile surgical care to Westerville and surrounding communities.


He served as chairman of the Peer Excellence Committee from 2018-2020 and President of the MCSA Medical Staff from 2020-2022. He is currently chairman of the Surgical Administrative Committee and has served on dozens of other committees and subcommittees to maintain a culture of collegiality, safety, and quality.
